Position: Regional Research Coordinator
The Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG) is a regional government serving ten Central Texas counties including the Austin community and undertakes planning and technical assistance to guide community and economic development activities at the regional and local levels. Candidates should have experience using a variety of economic and demographic data sources to compile analyses, presentations, and reports related to economic competitiveness factors influenced by workforce, transportation, housing, land use and business development trends. Work will include economic recovery and resiliency initiatives funded by EDA and managing a regional dashboard. Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in community and regional planning, urban planning, public policy, economics or a related field is required. Completion of graduate-level coursework that incorporates data driven economic and demographic analysis preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional work in community and regional planning, economic analysis, or economic development strategic development work. Experience using ArcGIS, EMSI, and all traditional data sources required with at least two years of experience compiling and analyzing data to support planning and policy projects.
Salary range: $45,000-58,000 depending on qualifications
