This is a responsible professional non-supervisory position. Primary responsibilities include: perform interim and final inspections on single family homes and multi-family units designed to ensure the completeness, appropriateness and quality of energy efficiency and health and safety work performed on the home by conducting field measurements and diagnostic testing to confirm appropriate measures were identified and installed to produce the target areas of energy conservation. To review and validate recorded data collected during the assessment and interim/final inspection(s), complete the electronic and physical file paperwork, communicate with the client and contractor to ensure all work completed is in compliance with program requirements. Evaluates Material Requests to determine if any Work Orders are in need of revision prior to or during the installation process, and may revise Work Orders if needed. Accurately documents all required information in both physical case files and throughout a custom MS Access database as well as work with Excel Spreadsheets.

Candidate must have the ability to gather empirical data, conduct diagnostic tests, establish effective working relationships, interact with clients to obtain information, act as a liaison between clients and contractors, knowledge of building construction processes and techniques and materials (including the physical structure, appliances and related electrical and mechanical systems), understand and interpret code compliance issues. Bilingual spoken and written Spanish/English. Some college, vocational or technical school coursework and three to five years working experience in housing construction and/or home remodeling, reconstruction or rehabilitation. Experience as a Weatherization Inspector, home inspector, energy auditor or home energy analyst. Knowledge of the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA), Department of Energy (DOE) and Department of Housing and Human Services programs’ regulations, requirements, and procedures.

AACOG Business hours are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 PM. M-F.  Pay Grade: 10, with a starting hourly rate of $17.69.; this position is Non-Exempt; 40-hour workweek. Open until filled. Only online electronic applications will be accepted.
