The Ombudsman Program Manager provides moderately complex managerial work overseeing the daily operations and activities of the division’s long-term care ombudsman program in the CAPCOG region. This position requires supervision of the staff ombudsmen and ensures duties are performed as required by the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman while also performing like duties in compliance of the state agency program performance metrics. Work includes maintaining working relationships with assisted living facilities, nursing facilities, residents, and families of residents; representing the agency at meetings, hearings, and conferences; and overseeing investigation of complaints and issue resolution. Other duties include preparing program outcome and statistical reports for local and state agencies. Familiarity with services to older adults in group residential settings is an asset. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to ensure quality programs that support the needs of older adults in residential settings. Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university OR a high school diploma and at least four years of one or a combination of the following: 1) paid experience in a social, behavioral, health, or human service field; or 2) experience as a certified ombudsman.
Experience: One year of supervisory experience of a social services program is required. Experience working with older adults is preferred.
Salary: $58,000 – $65,000 based on qualifications
