Make a difference in the lives of older adults and caregivers in the 10-county region. The Aging Services Information, Referral and Assistance Specialist is an essential part of providing information and support to vulnerable persons and those that care for them via phone and emails. This is a responsible, non-supervisory position performing human services work, assisting callers with information on the Area Agency on Aging, nonprofit programs, and government supports. The position involves providing persons contacting the Area Agency on Aging via phone and email with intake, assessing individual needs, providing options for available supports, and selecting and explaining community resources appropriate to client needs. Work requires the employee to respond professionally, with sensitivity, timeliness, and accuracy to inquiries from diverse individuals of all ages, informal caregivers, providers, and the public. Education: Graduation from high school or an equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in a human services field preferred.
Experience: One year of experience working within a consumer assistance or social services field required. Preferred: Bilingual — English/Spanish; one year of experience in providing phone and/or direct social services assistance to consumers.
Salary: $40,700 – $43,000
