GIS Program Manager
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Program Manager supervises a small team that provides GIS and mapping data support to other agency programs which work with older-adults and their caregivers; environmental, transportation and economic development planners; emergency call centers; and others in the ten-county region. The GIS Program Manager manages the process for making regular updates to emergency communications mapping data to ensure high-quality data is available for emergency response services and manages the contracts for receiving and correcting such data from local governments. The GIS Program Manager also oversees vendor contracts for the acquisition of aerial imagery and specialized 9-1-1 GIS data quality control software. This position manages CAPCOG’s GIS Planning Council and GIS Map User Group, the two committees work to improve the use of GIS locally and regionally, and periodically conducts presentations to other CAPCOG committees including its governing body.

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in GIS, regional planning, geography, or a related field is preferred. Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
Experience: Five years’ experience as a GIS professional required. Supervisory experience is preferred. Candidate should have considerable experience working with ArcPro or ArcMap and ArcGIS online. Master’s degree may substitute for up to two years of experience as determined by the hiring supervisor.
Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000, depending on qualifications.
