The Air Quality Program Specialist will support the Capital Area Council of Government’s Air Quality program which serves the 5-county Austin-Round Rock-Georgetown Metro area. The Air Quality Program Specialist is responsible for helping support the program’s new and ongoing initiatives to include, air quality monitoring, emissions inventory research, AQ data analysis, preparation of reports, the Clean Air Coalition and its Advisory Committee, regional AQ outreach, and the implementation of the region’s voluntary air quality plan. Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. Course work in math or statistics, natural sciences, and communications is strongly preferred.
Experience: Three years professional experience conducting similar work is required. Master’s degree may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis. Experience with ArcGIS and other mapping software is preferred. Ability to read, speak, and write Spanish is preferred.
Salary Range: $50,000 – $65,000, depending on qualifications
