The Capital Area Council of Governments, CAPCOG, is a governmental organization serving the 10-county region surrounding the Austin metro area that coordinates with other city and county governments to provide programs and services related to community development, public safety, environmental issues and services for seniors. The Regional Planning and Services Division provides technical assistance and support to local governments throughout the 10-county region on issues related to planning and land use, sustainable development, transportation planning, natural resource management, and related policy fields.
CAPCOG is seeking an Administrative Assistant II to support the Regional Planning and Services division and Community and Economic Development division by performing routine administrative support, including supporting multiple policy/program advisory committee, preparing division documents, maintaining filing systems, preparing mail, and other clerical support functions. Office electronics such as desktop computers, multiline phones, and photocopiers/scanners; daily use of MS Office software; maintain file management systems; and the rules of composition and grammar of the English language are some of the skills used in the performance of the essential functions of the position.
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent is required.
Experience: One (1) year of experience in general clerical/secretarial experience required. A combination of education and experience can be substituted for one another as determined by the division director.
Salary: $17.00 -$18.00 per hour depending on qualifications
