The Capital Area Council of Governments, CAPCOG, is an organization of city and county governments in the 10-county region surrounding the Austin metro area created to foster collaboration at the regional level and promote economy and efficiency in the coordinated development of the region. The staff of the Finance department is responsible for all internal and external financial services for CAPCOG programs in accordance with grant and contract agreements. Our Finance department is seeking an Accountant I to perform entry-level accounting work. The work will involve accounts payable and accounts receivable, and other duties as appropriate for an Accountant I. This person will ensure work is completed accurately and timely, and consistent with agency record keeping procedures. Work is performed using MIP Fund Accounting software and Office 365 Suite, including Excel.
Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in accounting is generally preferred.
Experience: Minimum of two years of accounting experience that includes accounts payable and accounts receivable required.
Salary: $16.35 – $18.75/hour depending on qualifications
