9-1-1 Telecommunications Coordinator – B

CAPCOG is seeking public safety professionals for a 9-1-1 Telecommunications Coordinator-B position. The 9-1-1 Telecommunications Coordinator-B is part of an operations team and is responsible for the technical services in installation, maintenance, and operation of a 24/7 telecommunications communications systems. This position coordinates with regional partners, contract staff, and commercial carriers to establish 9-1-1 telecommunications and remedy any service impacting outages of critical infrastructures. The position allows the latitude for service decision making, create and implement processes that impact the region. Organizational memberships are provided along with training and certifications needed for continual professional progression. Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required with major course work in business management, computer or management information systems or a related field is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in operating 9-1-1 systems is required. Direct experience working with 9-1-1 customer presence equipment (CPE), database administration, Internet Protocol (IP) based networking, wireless or VoIP services is required. Preferred: Experience in information systems architecture, electronics or telecommunications installation and maintenance work. Understanding of Next Generation 9-1-1 implementation and structure along with the operational use of 9-1-1 customer premise equipment (CPE) solutions. Knowledge and understanding of ECATS management information systems.  Previous or current Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Telecommunicator License. Education and experience may be substituted for one another.

Requirements: Pass and maintain CJIS background clearance.

Salary Range: $52,000 to $76,000
