Job Description
The North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging (NCTAAA) seeks a full-time Volunteer Coordinator to coordinate the use of volunteers in community service programs in the agency’s service area. The coordinator will recruit and place volunteers, arrange orientation and training, monitor volunteer performance, provide technical support, conduct media outreach, and arrange volunteer recognition. The NCTAAA is a program of the North Central Texas Council of Governments and plans, coordinates and delivers services to persons age 60 and over and their family caregivers in a 14-county area.

Required Skills
The ideal candidate should possess volunteer management skills, excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, have the ability to work with minimal supervision, and organize work effectively. The ideal candidate has experience with media outreach and volunteer recognition. Candidate must possess computer literacy and have database experience.

Required Experience
A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in volunteer management, social work or a related human services field, along with experience working with older volunteers. Volunteer management includes the ability to recruit and train volunteers, place them in assignments, monitor their progress, and evaluate, redirect and remove volunteers from assignments as needed. Experience coordinating government grant funding is preferred.

Candidate must have personal transportation and be able to do local travel throughout the service area.

Candidate must be able to pass National Service Criminal History Check and monthly fraud conviction database screening including fingerprinting.
