Job Description:
The Public Employee Benefits Cooperative of North Texas (PEBC), housed at North Central Texas Council of Governments,  is seeking a Benefits Plan Assistant to join the team. The purpose of this position is to assist with the administration of the PEBC multi-employer group health benefits plan.  This position will interact with multiple vendors and coordinate the transfer of information from the employer groups to Third-Party vendors.  The successful candidate should possess knowledge of COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA and other laws that are applicable to Cafeteria Plans.  The specific job duties will include:

  • Managing activities in preparation for the PEBC Board Meeting and record the meeting minutes
  • Scheduling vendor meetings
  • Reviewing contracts and maintain an audit schedule
  • Interacting with vendors and member entities via telephone and written correspondence
  • Answering questions regarding benefit eligibility, coverage, and claims procedures for employer groups and vendors in a method to ensure quick, equitable resolution
  • Assisting in developing and preparing reports, plan documents, letters, and spreadsheets
  • Reviewing vendor invoices, resolving disputes, and reporting on fees and costs
  • Coordinating special projects, such as enrollment fulfillment, website maintenance and Request For Proposals

Required Experience
One to three years of work experience in Human Resources or a Business related field.  Bachelors Degree desirable.
