The Capital Area Council of Governments, CAPCOG, is an organization of city and county governments in the 10-county region surrounding the Austin metro area created to foster collaboration at the regional level and promote economy and efficiency in the coordinated development of the region.

Currently CAPCOG is seeking a Disaster Recovery Coordinator to manage disaster recovery programs with a focus on housing assistance in federally-declared disaster counties. Strong candidates will have experience working with FEMA programs and with grant management procedures.  Coordinator will work with local governments in the field to assist housing recovery efforts including assistance to eligible residents. Position will be full-time for 18 months but may be continued depending on related emergency management work.

Education:  Graduation from an accredited college or university is required. Minimum of three years of work focused on grant administration and implementation activities; experience with FEMA and HUD funding preferred.

Experience:  

Required: Demonstrated knowledge of disaster recovery work with a focus on housing and infrastructure repair and reconstruction.  Experience working with procurement, contracts, and general regulatory compliance.  

Preferred: Experience working with emergency response and/or emergency management, including development of emergency management or emergency response plans; experience in the administration, development, coordination, and monitoring of grants.

Salary range: $53,000 – $64,000 depending on qualifications.
