This is a responsible, supervisory position that requires working with a variety of providers of services to the elderly and local public and private organizations. Duties include: Familiarity with various rules and regulations regarding aging programs and services; Ensures compliance and knowledge of Texas Administrative Code (TAC), Administration for Community Living (ACL), Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), and Older Americans Act (OAA) relevant to the Nutrition Program and Contract Services; Coordinate standing budget meeting with AAA management and accounting representative; Compiles and analyzes statistical data related to program performance of AAA Specialist and service providers; Maintains records and files in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures in a manner that supports state and federal requirements; Sets strategic priorities for assigned programs; Coordinates and supervises work of specialists; Serves as Data Systems Administrator for client information system; Assists in conducting vendor application/enrollment process including monitoring of application accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness of unit rates, etc.; Assists in negotiating contract renewals and amendments, including appropriate unit rates for AAA services in compliance with state and federal regulations and serves as the AAA liaison to regional vendors and contracts
A bachelor’s degree in social work, business, public administration, or a related field, plus at least two years of supervisory experience in the field of aging, nursing, social work, other human services, or a related field; Two years of full-time aging or social work, experience may be substituted for one year of the required education, with the maximum substitution of four years of experience for two years of education OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. AACOG business hours 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. M-F. This is an exempt position. Pay Grade 13. Only electronic online applications will be accepted.
Experience with automated client database tracking systems and reporting metrics to funding agencies; Experience collaborating with community partners; Experience with government programs and benefits, rules and regulations related to seniors, people with disabilities and their families; Strong fiscal background creating, implementing, and managing budgets; Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills; Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities; Experience managing resources and personnel to achieve program requirements and AACOG mission.
