This is a responsible non-supervisory position that maintains records in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures including protecting the confidentiality, identity, and privacy of the clients or their representatives; Builds effective collaborations and referral links for coordination and exchange of info. with local service providers and other related private, federal, state or local agencies; Prepares statistical reports daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly as required and assists with preparation of other reports within the ombudsmanager system; Provides information and referral services on aging programs in the rural counties and follows up to ensure services were received from referral sources; Assists in preparation of grants for Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) program funds. Acquire a thorough knowledge of AACOG policies and procedures and general office procedures and practices; Learn aging service program requirements and activities; Knowledge of/ability to learn nursing home standards; Work well with elderly citizens and citizen groups; performs other job-related duties as assigned. Bachelor Degree preferred and equivalent experience preferred. Social services, Public Administration or related field.; at least one (1) year of experience in a responsible position in a social service or related field, preferably related to services to the elderly; OR Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, or a related field, plus at least three (3) years of related work experience, with at least two (2) years of experience in a responsible position in a social service or related field, preferably related to services to the elderly; OR High school graduation, or its equivalent, plus at least five (5) years of related work experience, with at least two (2) years of experience in a responsible position in a social service or related field, preferably related to services to the elderly; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skill, and abilities.
AACOG business hours 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. M-F. This is a non-exempt position. Pay Grade 10. Only electronic online applications will be accepted.
