The Capital Area Council of Governments, CAPCOG, is an organization of city and county governments in the 10-county region surrounding the Austin metro area created to foster collaboration at the regional level and promote economy and efficiency in the coordinated development of the region.
CAPCOG is seeking a temporary part-time Disaster Recovery Assistant to support disaster recovery programs assisting with the coordination and transition planning for housing. This position supports the requirements of the grant to work directly with housing assistance recipients to acquire information and document intake process. The applicant must have a valid driver’s license, proof of vehicle insurance and dependable transportation for travel within the region. Travel within the region will be required. This position is a temporary position expected to last through February 2019.
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent is required
Required: One (1) year of demonstrated work related to the essential functions of the position.
Preferred: Knowledge of disaster recovery work with a focus on housing and infrastructure repair and reconstruction, or working in social services, case management or other like professions. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
Salary range: Up to $18.00 per hour based on qualifications
